Clinique High Impact Mascara in Black/Brown

Oh, guys, you know those days where not a single neuron is firing in the ol' noggin? That was yesterday for me, big time. No cognitive function whatsoever, so I hope the posts turned out okay. I might go back and give 'em a once over today to make sure at least parts of them made sense because really only 70% of blogging should make sense. That's the fun of it!

So, today's story is about finding a non-black mascara. I was in the Fox Hills Mall in Culver City searching and searching, finally walked into a Macy's and went to my tried and true Clinique counter. Bam! The SA had it in my hands in less than a minute; the conversation went a little like this...

"Hi, I am looking for a brown or brown-black mascara."

"Ok, are you looking for length, volume..." Note: this is the first response I've gotten in the whole mall that wasn't "oh, sorry, no."

"I have pretty long lashes, so probably more definition and volume."

"Sure, we have High Impact Mascara in Black/Brown." She goes back, opens a drawer, whips out a little box, and opens it for me so I can see the color. Perfection.

"I'll take it!" Done deal, and now, to introduce to you one of my staples.

If you don't have black hair and lashes, I think you should own at least one mascara that isn't jet black. Most day looks will work fine with black mascara unless you're going for a very subtle look of just my-face-but-accented; that's when you need a nice non-black mascara. This one is mine.

Clinique Long Last Lipstick: A Great Formula and Good Price

All Clinique lipsticks are fragrance-free which is really nice when your nose is sensitive or you don't want any other slight fragrance of powder/blush/etc. This long last formula is silky smooth and buttery--that's my big word for this, buttery--while feeling just a tad moisturizing and super comfortable. This lipstick never makes the fine lines of my 20-something lips look deeper or look more uneven when not smiling. Just a really really nice formula.
