CHANEL Rouge Allure Laque in Ming

$32.00 for 0.2 fl oz.
I swear I'm not trying to sound like a broken record, but this was another disappointment from Chanel. I'm going to have a hard time describing why because I can barely put my finger on a reason. None the less, here goes.

The Rouge Allure Laque formula is basically a liquid lipstick: smooth semi-opaque to opaque color payoff with a comfortable feel and a decent wear time. Ming is a soft yet vibrant pink (lighter color but still pigmented) with a rather glossy finish without the tackiness of a Glossimer. These last about three to four hours on me without heavy drinking, eating, talking, etc.

To be really honest I just have a huge problem paying 32 buck for this. I mean, it's not specially hydrating or "that one shade that makes my face pop" or anything, but it is a comfortable liquid lipstick that may be just what you're looking for. I'm just not looking for this. If I had to give it a grade, I'd say this is a personal B and a universal A-.
With Chanel Rouge Allure Laque in Ming on lips, Bobbi Brown Cheek Tint in Sheer Lilac on cheeks, and Physicians Formula Organics Mascara on lashes

This shade of pink should be universally flattering even though I can see this leaning slightly cooler in tone.
Please let me know if you have this product as I'd really like to hear that the price is worth it for others. I just can't believe I've had this kind of luck with Chanel. Again, it is a smidge disappointing.

What do you think? Should I give this formula another chance? Maybe a different color? Do you think this is a keeper or one you could fall madly in love with? Let me know in a comment!

  1. I'm glad that you've reviewed Chanel's Rouge Allure,I was one step away from buying it.Somehow it seems that a lot of people love the Glossimers, but did't love it at all,so I was thinking to give this one a try. Not anymore.

  2. To be totally fair, if you are a big Chanel fan and need/want a lot of their stuff, go for it. But if you are already hesitating with the $32 price tag, yeah, don't. I do hear the darker colors (red, etc) are quite good, but I've found over formulas work better and cost less.
